Mini Meet Medals on 22nd March

on 14 April 2015
Hillingdon Swimming Club played host to six other Clubs at Uxbridge Pool on Sunday March 22nd, at an afternoon Mini Meet for young swimmers.
The event was aimed at girls and boys aged eight to eleven, wishing to compete in their first or second Gala.
There were nerves, excitement and lots of fun, as the swimmers competed in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly races over 25 and 50 metres.
Watching parents were treated to some great competition in all events, and Hillingdon Club swimmers along with visiting children from the Clubs Chalfont Otters, Wycombe, London Borough of Hounslow, Forward Hillingdon, Staines and Seabyrds all took home lots of medals.

Within the Hillingdon squads there were impressive performances from Adam Bennett, who won a gold medal in every event for boys aged 10 and Georgina Woollard who won four medals in the girls age eight category.

Other up and coming Hillingdon Swimming Club swimmers to watch out for include Stefania McGowan aged nine and Madeleine Pomroy aged ten who both took home golds in their age groups for the toughest race of the day- the 50 metre butterfly as did eleven year old Luca Martin-McKevitt for the boys. And in the 50 metre butterfly for boys aged nine, Hillingdon swimmers staged a bit of an unprecedented coup with Harry Lee-Knowles, Krishna Chandaria, Brandon Heanen , Charlie Wing Yat Lo and Andrei Revenko romping home in the first five places. Other Hillingdon gold medallists include Isabella Woollard, Aura Gleeson, Joe Scott, Oliver Castell, Georgina Woollard, and Rohan Phillips.

Well done to all the swimmers who took part and thank you to Mel Willis and her team, who took on the task of organising the event.

Swimmers from L to R are Georgina Woollard, Madeleine Pomroy, Stefania McGowan and Isabella Woollard.
