8 Medals for Sean-Patrick at the Scottish National Age Groups.

on 05 April 2016
Sean-Patrick McGowan was swimming hard at Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Glasgow last week, putting Hillingdon Swimming Club well and truly on the map at the Scottish National Age Group Championships. Over 1000 of the best age group swimmers representing over 90 Clubs from across the UK were in Glasgow for the 5 day National Championships, which saw swimmers such as Hannah Miley, Ross Murdoch and Robbie Renwick also competing. Sean-Patrick was our only Hillingdon swimmer at the Championships, but this didn't hold him back. Over the course of the 5 days he swam brilliantly.
Competing in the 12-13 year Age Group, by the close of Day 1 he had secured two Bronze medals in the Finals of 50m Fly (29.31) and 100m Backstroke (1.09.32) and by the end of Day 2 he added two Silver medals to this, in 200m Fly (2.26.44) and 400m Freestyle (4.39.06). On Day 3 he added a further Silver medal in the 50m Free (27.16). Day 4 saw another Silver in the 200m Free (2.09.87) and a hard fought Gold in 100m Fly (1.03.57) which Sean-Patrick won on a very exciting final stroke! On Day 5 he finished the week with a Silver medal in 100m Freestyle in a fantastic time of 58.91s.
Sean-Patrick's total medal tally came to 1 Gold, 5 Silvers and 2 Bronzes and every single Finals time was a PB, which is an amazing achievement at this level of Championships.
Congratulations to Sean-Patrick and good luck to our Hillingdon swimmers who will be heading up to Tollcross for the British Championships starting on 12th April.
