Cambridge last chance qualifying meet

on 12 April 2016
As well as Youth Regionals last weekend, a team of younger Age Group swimmer's from both HBEST and RNSS squads travelled to Cambridge for the 'Last Chance Qualifying Meet' held at Parkside pools.  This meet was targeted for swimmers who already have London Regional Age Group QT's to practice 4 weeks out, a chance for swimmers to gain more QT's and for the younger swimmers to experience an away meet and swim outside of the London Region.  The meet ran short course, over 3 days and the team did brilliantly.  Over the weekend they amassed an impressive 64 medals which included 26 Golds, 15 Silvers and 23 Bronzes.  On top of this, many swimmers swam personal best times.  RNSS squad swimmers PB'd after only racing a few weeks ago at Potters Bar!  With London Regional QT's up for grabs the meet picked up Saturday and never stopped with multiple swimmers gaining QT times.  Hillingdon swimmers looked particularly strong in the Breastroke and 200m plus events.  Two other clubs commented on the skills and technique of the our swimmers, a great compliment for the whole club and our coaches.  Matt and Gary said "It was a fast meet with lots of swimmers gaining times, swimmers executed race plans and were positive throughout.  We were certainly the biggest and most well supported team at the meet.  This is all great 4 weeks out from Regionals and bodes well going into the last few months and Long Course meets of the season."  Well done everyone!
