Last Sunday 43 supporters, 34 swimmers & 3 coaches travelled to Cardiff International Pool to take part in the National Arena League Premier Final, following our success of becoming London Arena Champions last December.  To make the Premier final was an amazing achievement for the club, and gave our swimmers a fantastic opportunity of competing against the top swimmers in the country including 8 Olympians!  We were the only club representing London and we took our place among the TOP 10 club's in the country.  Teams competing were Guildford City, Plymouth Leander, City of Liverpool, City of Cardiff, Millfield School, City of Peterborough, City of Derby, City of Sheffield and Thanet Swimming Club.  The atmosphere at the event was fantastic and spectators were treated to an afternoon of fast swimming.  Hillingdon SC were placed 9th and considering the size of our club this was a brilliant achievement for both our swimmers and coaches.  Guildford City won by a single point to win the entire competition, completing a first time in history of winning both the Diddy League and Arena League competitions in the same season.  Notable swims came from Loulou Vos and Alfie Collins in the 200IM, with Loulou racing Cardiff Olympian Chloe Tutton and Alfie having British Champion and Olympian Max Litchfield in the lane next to him!  Mitchell Adams also had the hard task of taking on Double World Champion James Guy in the 100 Fly!  James stopped by and signed some of our younger members t'shirts.  Ceara Barber swam up an age group and won the 14/under 100m Backstroke to the delight of the team and supporters.  Ceara was also awarded most improved 13/u girl.  Sean Patrick McGowan and Amy Grimshaw swam strong individual events that look certain for them to qualify for the Summer Nationals in Sheffield.  This was a proud day for #TEAMGREEN  with our swimmers & supporters proudly wearing club colours and our new club tattoos,  it showed just how strong a team we are!  We are already looking forward to October and Round 1 of the 2016/2017 Arena League. See some photos from the day in CLUB NEWS.
