A Team of young swimmers, a lot of which were very inexperienced in racing, took part on the Amersham Novice Gala this weekend. A big well done to all that were involved, especially the Junior Academy swimmers. Coach Luke reported that you all swam fantastically well.  It was a close competition with HSC coming runners up to Bracknell, by only 14 points. A fantastic achievement considering the young and inexperienced team selected.

A big THANK YOU to all the parents that helped on poolside, judges, timekeepers and to Luke who selected the team and went to the meet as Lead Coach.

We look forward to forthcoming Enfield Meet and attending this meet again next season

192 - Bracknell & Wokingham
178 - Hillingdon SC
144 - Amersham
89 - Henley

The club are planning to organise another training course in conjunction with Middx County for parents who are interested in qualifying as an Official.  The J1 course is held over 3 classroom based sessions of 3 hours together with a number of pool sessions. We hope to hold the classroom sessions at St Helens Sports Centre in Northwood on Sunday afternoons.

The role of Officials is essential in supporting the Club and enabling our swimmers to compete at Meets, and we hope you will take this opportunity to join our current team of Officials.  The course fee and Swim England registration will be paid by the Club.

If you would like to register your interest for the course please contact Teresa Jones on .

After a fantastic result in Round 1, the Clubs Junior Team travelled to Barnet for Round 2 of the M11 Junior League.

Hillingdon came back with another Round win, cementing the Club firmly at the top of the league and putting us in a great position to be win the league and be promoted to Division 1 in Round 3.

A big well done as the team had swimmers missing with a number of them racing at London AG Champs. A lot of younger swimmers raced up an age group, sometimes 2 and we still came away with the win! Another big thank you and well done for the swimmers who were at London Age Champs Sunday morning, and raced over from Crystal Palace to Barnet to get to the meet.

Thanks to Luke Spain and Sue Gleeson who organised the team.

Round 2 Results:

Hillingdon SC 238
Hackney 214
Broomfield 159
Halstead 144
Camden B 128
Rochford 121

The 2017 London Championships came to a close with the Age Groups (11 to 14) that took place at London Aquatic Centre and Crystal Palace over 2 weekends.

The Age Groupers swam great over both weekends, with 10 different medalists winning 24 medals (6 Gold, 9 Silver, 9 Bronze) As well as the medals, there were plenty of swimmers making finals, swimming at their 1st Regional Championships and achieving many Long Course PB's along the way.

Highlights of the weekend were Dillon Chana winning a clean sweep of Golds in the Backstroke events, Emma Ortiz, Hannah Bowley and Stefania McGowan winning medals for the 1st time at the Regional Championships and a number of swimmers in Elite 1 & 2 posting Long Course times that have put them in Top 24 and Top 20 Rankings for British Summer Champs and Swim England Championships respectively.

Of course - the biggest highlight was Coach Gary's big 60th Birthday on Saturday 20th May. A big thank you to Gary for giving up time on his big day to coach the swimmers. Fast swimming was his present over the weekend, as well as some cake!

RESULTS from Middlesex County Spring Dev Meet 7th May - Session 5&6 update

There were over 50pbs in just 1 day of swimming, and 2 very proud coaches;

Session 5
It was an amazing start from Sara Gajek in the 400free for the 10 yrs, taking 1.15 seconds off her pb, and winning a bronze. Anika Bisaria won gold for the 11 yr olds in 400 free.  Oliver Stone won an amazing gold for the 12yrs 50back, with Sean Gubatanga winning silver for the 14yrs 50back.  Niamh Hughes smashed her previous 50fly pb by a massive 4 seconds, and Monica Evans, who had a brilliant day of pb's, came 2nd in the 16yrs 50fly and 16yrs 100free. Oliver Darnaill won bronze for the 13yrs 100 IM

Session 6
Oliver Dartnaill started the afternoon session with a bang, taking nearly 50secs off his previous pb in the 400 free, and in doing so smashed the 6min barrier to pieces with a time of 5.39 for the 13 yr olds. Oliver Stone 12, also swam brilliantly, but couldn't quite break the 6min target with 6:01 (The coaches are confident he'll smash it in the the club clamps in the coming weeks!). Monica Evans won gold in the 50Free equalling her pb of 30:30. Andrew May won gold in 50 Br for the 10yr olds and Antonio Mo won gold for the 11yr olds.

Some truly brilliant swims throughout the day!  Thank you so much to everyone who helped on poolside, judging, time keeping and announcing the results... This is a great level 3 meet, especially for new comers, and good to reach county times... We look forward to many more of Hillingdon swimmers entering this time next year.

Hopefully we haven't missed anyone out... we'll done to everyone!
