Three of Hillingdon's six qualifiers travelled to Sheffield last week for this seasons British Championships 2017. These were also used as the selection trials for the teams that will be sent to World Championships, World University Championships, World Junior Championships, European Junior Championships and European Youth Olympic Festival.

Jemima Hall competed in her 2nd British Championships in 100m and 200m Freestyle events and secured a place in the Junior Final in the 100m Freestyle.  Competing within the same Finals session as James Guy, Ross Murdoch and Siobhan Marie O'Connor was an experience that will prove valuable for Jemima moving forward.

Ceara Barber raced all three backstroke distances and showed her class by holding her own with the girls in her age group, some of whom were two years older. Ceara will now have to wait patiently to see if she has been selected for the European Youth Olympic Festival.

Leon Berchie also represented Hillingdon at British Championships in the 50m and 100m Butterfly. Leon progressed to the 'Target Tokyo' Finals in both events and showed that his makeshift training programme between Hillingdon and Southampton University is still sufficient to perform at the highest level. He is looking to build on his performances at the British Summer Championships.

A busy two days at the Middlesex Development Meet was met with lots of enthusiasm from the swimmers. Spirits were high going into the mornings events and continued through both days, with a lot of fast swimming in the pool and equally great support on poolside created a great team atmosphere. With over 60 personal bests, new times being recorded and a number of medal winners across the two days the meet was a huge success.

Notable performances came from Milly Sheard in the 50m Back, Sara Gajek in the 200m Fly, Harry Bowley in the 100m Back, Rebecca Pinder in the 100m Fly and Sean Gubatanga in the 50m Free.

A massive well done to all swimmers who took part in the meet.

Matt, Gary and the Team Manager Staff of Mel, Belinda and Amanda took a team of 35 swimmers away to the UEA City of Norwich Easter Meet. The team trained together as one Thursday night and made the trip to East Anglia at 4.45am on Friday morning for a 8.30am Warm Up.

In very tough racing conditions, the team had a number of season bests and personal bests at the meet, making sure Pre and Post pool was on top form in between races. The Club made a storming start finishing as Top Club on Day 1 and 4 swimmers in the Top 3 for the Top Boy/Girl Award. It was great to see such team work and bonding from the oldest to the youngest swimmers, and Hillingdon was represented in nearly every final.

Overall, Hillingdon came 3rd overall Top Club, with Dillon Chana winning overall Top Boy. A fantastic job by all and a special Thank you Mel, Belinda and Amanda for team managing and organising a highly successful trip.

Swimmers from Elite 2, Elite 3 and Development 1 travelled to the impressive Elmbridge Xcel Centre for the Staines Swimming Club Black Swan Regional Qualifying Meet.

Every swimmer had a different challenge, either practicing race skills for London Champs, trying to gain last chance London Champs times, or a younger swimmer gaining even more race experience. It was great to see swimmers of all levels together on poolside and swimming fast. A number of other Clubs commented on the high skill level and underwater work our swimmers were doing, so good job coaches!!

It was a fantastic meet, not only in skills, but in results with Hillingdon winning Top Club for Girls and for Boys.
