John Adye - Head Coach

john adye new John began coaching on a voluntary basis with Bournemouth Dolphins Swimming Club at the age of 16. During this time, he had the opportunity to work with 2 vastly experienced and successful coaches in Laurie Dormer and Graham Bassi.

John spent 6 years with City of Coventry SC where he was able to develop his own coaching philosophy whilst running the Age Group squad. The coaching team at Coventry, led by former Olympic & Commonwealth swimmer/Coach Adam Ruckwood, enjoyed great success during this time with numerous National Qualifiers, Finalists and Medalists.
In April 2014, John began his role here as Head Coach at Hillingdon Swimming Club and has continued to bring success to the Club since his arrival.

Damien Bryan – Assistant Head Coach

damien bryan Damien joined the Club in July 2018. Damien brings a wealth of experience to the Club, having been Head Coach of Kingston Royals from 2013-2018.

A Level 3 coach with over 15 years’ experience at all levels of aquatics right through to world class performance. Head Coach of swimmer development in London Region as well as involved at all levels of Open Water Development with Swim England. I have coached swimmers to national success as well as international success in open water events having worked as an international coach at multiple World and European Championships since 2010. Awarded the London Coach of the Year in 2017 for my work developing both swimmers – age group, youth and Masters – and swimming clubs.

He is the lead coach for Elite 2 and Development 1, as well as working with the Academies and all RNSS squads regularly throughout the week.

Anthony Manfredi – Junior Elite Coach

anthony manfredi Anthony swam for the Club for 8 years, competing at County and Regional level. Over the past 3 years, he has been working with the Club as an assistant coach to various RNSS squads as well as running land work sessions. In March 2017, Anthony took over as the lead coach for Regional squad and through his hard work, the squad has had multiple Regional qualifiers with a number of swimmers being offered places within the Elite squads.

As of January 2018, Anthony became the Club 3rd Full Time Coach taking up the Role of Junior Elite Coach, where he currently works with Elite 3, the running of the Masters squad and various RNSS squad.

Alex Tegene – RNSS County Coach

alex tegene Alex started coaching at 17 years old after swimming for 10 years with Anaconda Swimming Club. Alex began teaching for GLL and through this, was able to secure a coaching job at Imperial University, as well as being Joint Head Coach for the Triathlon Club, Tri-London.

Alex joined HSC in September 2017, and has since then been in charge of the County Squad.

Lin Styles – RNSS Academy & Development 2 Coach

Lin Styles Lin started her swimming career in Northolt Pool at 6 years old and went on to swim for Ealing Swimming Club under Laurie Dormer and Shirley Halcox. At 11 years old, Lin won Silver at Nationals in the 100m Backstroke.

After finishing swimming, she became a volunteer coach at Ealing and a lifeguard at Highgrove Swimming Pool. Lin became Head Coach of Ruislip Northwood Swim Squad and did so for 9 years. Lin has been a coach at the Club ever since and regularly says her passion and love for swimming has never disappeared, to the extent that both her children swam for the Club, with one currently training in the Regional squad.

In 2016, Lin extended her role by coaching the RNSS County Squad and in 2017, took over the lead role for the Junior Academy Squads, as well as directly coaching Academy 3 and Development 2.

James Holdford – RNSS Academy Coach

james holdford James has been coaching and teaching for Hillingdon over the last 6 years, firstly as an Assistant and more recently coaching across all the Academy squads. James also teaches within our Junior Section on Sundays. Alongside his role with HSC, James teaches a variety of levels at St Helens School Pool and runs the Watford LTS School.

Prior to coaching, James represented Ruislip and Northwood Swim Squad, competing across County and Regional events.

Ollie Kenway – RNSS Coach

oli kenway Ollie trained with Hillingdon Swimming Club from the age of 8, and retired from swimming in April 2015, after competing and representing the Club in National Junior League, National Arena League, Middlesex Counties, London Regional and British Nationals.

Since finishing swimming, Ollie works as a lifeguard and a teacher at Hillingdon Sport and Leisure Complex as well as taking a role in coaching the RNSS squads Senior Academy, Youth Academy, Academy and Junior Academy Groups.

Bill Harrington – RNSS Assistant Academy Coach

bill harrington Bill first became involved in swimming when his eldest daughter began with the Club 15 years ago. After watching various session for the first few years, Bill noticed that swimmers of a young age normally swam better and harder when someone is watching them, and it was at that point Bill offered to be a poolside helper.

Through this, he acquired his Level 1 Teaching qualification and assisted on poolside for 9 years with former RNSS Head Coach Lesley Westerndorp. Bill believes that with great technique and hard work, all swimmers can perform to a high level and gets a real enjoyment from seeing the swimmers develop what they have learnt and move on to the next level.

Jack Spence - RNSS Assistant Coach

Jack Spence Started competitive swimming at the age of 9 at Watford swimming Club.
Coached by Olympic Coach Terry Davies who coached his daughter Sharon.
Regional Medallist and National Qualifier on Front crawl and Backstroke.
Selected to swim on the England Talent Programme.
Been swim teaching since the age of 16.
Join HIllingdon SC as a swim coach in April 2018.

Conor Fallon - RNSS Assistant Coach

connor fallon Conor has been a member of Hillingdon Swimming Club since 2010, and retired from swimming after British Nationals in 2018. He has represented the Club in the National Arena League, Middlesex Counties, London Regional and British Nationals ( 2014/15/17/18) and at the Eindhoven International Meet and Edinburgh International Meet in 2018.

Over the years of competitive swimming he has developed all strokes but his main stroke has been backstroke.
